Eyes are the most powerful of the five senses as humans are considered to be visual creatures and eyes are used for every single operation. However, the eyes are subjected to various injuries which can impair sight in a serious manner.

  • Allergies:  Eyes are prone to a variety of allergic reactions which can leave the eyes red and teary. The most important part of the treatment of allergies is to understand the source of the allergen and to avoid exposure to various environmental triggers.

  • Stye:  Stye is a serious type of eye infection but it is harmless and it does not leave any long term side effects. An efficient home treatment for this infection is to dampen a washcloth with warm water above the eye. Heat from water open the eye's pores and eliminates infection.

  • Black Eyes: It is characterised by brusing around the eye area. Treatment for this condition is quick and easy. Ice can be applied to the infected area to prevent it from swelling. This can be done every 2 hours for 10-15 minutes.

  • Conjunctivitis: This condition is known as pink or sore eyes. Conjunctivitis is characterized by swelling of the conjunctiva, causing redness and soreness of the infected eye. Eye drops can be used for disinfection and cold compresses to relieve itchiness.
